On Thursday, humidity levels across the stretch from D.C. to Boston were about as high as notoriously humid cities such as Miami and New Orleans. In New York, peak humidity was approximately equal to that of the Amazon rainforest. Why is it so humid? The Bermuda high pressure system, which is more typically located over the central Atlantic Ocean, has shifted westward and is instead hugging the East Coast.
